We are located just a short hike from the Slickrock Creek trailhead, a great area for native trout fishing and hiking. Experienced hikers will want to see the wonder of Wildcat Falls. A short drive will take you to the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest with giant trees towering skyward.
Many visitors also explore the Fontana Dam area where the Appalachian Trail passes through Graham County NC as it winds its way from Georgia to Maine. And the newly constructed Cherohala Skyway offers views comparable to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Just three miles north on US 129 is the beginning of the famous motorcycle and sportscar road known as the Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap with 318 curves in 11 miles.
Many visitors are inspired by the natural shoreline of nearby Lake Santeetlah and the many opportunities available to sportmen. Fontana Lake is even larger and borders the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
Tapoco Lodge Resort offers a variety of accommodation and amenities included cabin rooms, lodge rooms, swimming pool, tennis courts, trails, recreation room, group facilities, and dinning room.
